The City of Woodinville is leading this important infrastructure project to improve safety, accessibility, and connectivity along 124th Ave NE. The project will construct a new sidewalk and bike lane on the east side of 124th Ave NE, extending from 171st Place NE to NE 165th Street.
These improvements will create a safer, more connected route for pedestrians, cyclists, and other travelers between nearby neighborhoods and key community destinations, including two schools, a public park, and transit facilities.
While the project is located almost entirely within the City of Bothell, it will primarily benefit Woodinville residents. In recognition of this community need, the City of Woodinville is funding and constructing the project to support student safety, regional connectivity, and active transportation.

Closes a Critical Gap: Fills an existing sidewalk and bike lane gap along 124th Ave NE between NE 171st Place and NE 165th Street.
Enhances Safety: Provides a safe and accessible route for pedestrians, cyclists, and vehicles alike and adds a crosswalk at 169th Street.
Improves Connectivity: Enables safer and more convenient access from nearby residential areas to two schools, a park, and transit facilities.
Supports Active Transportation: Encourages walking and biking as viable transportation options for daily commutes and recreation.

Add a crosswalk at NE 169th Street and installing a Rectangular Rapid Flashing Beacon at NE 169th Street to enhance pedestrian safety near Brickyard Road Park.
Upgrade ADA-accessible curb ramps to meet current standards.
Repave the existing roadway to improve surface conditions and safety.
Upgrade stormwater infrastructure by replacing existing ditches with a piped storm drain system where feasible, improving conveyance.

Construction crews working on the 124th Ave NE Sidewalk Improvements will prep the road for paving on Thursday, August 6, and pave the road on Monday and Tuesday, August 10-11.
Work will take place on both sides of 124th Ave NE, from 171st Place NE to NE 165th Street.
Drivers should expect significant traffic delays and are encouraged to use alternate routes if possible. Please slow down, follow traffic control, and allow extra travel time.
